Prescription and Fashion Eyewear

We are the only free-standing optical dispensary (with a full surfacing lab) in town. This allows us to perform quick and accurate work. We stock a large range of single vision lenses. Upon request, we can complete your prescription in one to two hours.

Materials

Probably the best thing we do is offer good advice so that you get what is best for your needs. Just like with contact lenses, one size does not fit all. We carry a wide variety of lenses, including photochromic (Transitions), which change with the sun. The "super-thin" (hi-index) lenses are great when your prescription is very strong or if you have astigmatism. We also carry polycarbonate lenses, which we recommend for children because they are very hard to break. We also offer progressive lenses (no-line bifocal) in several different types to meet your needs.

Lens Coatings

All of our lenses have a scratch-resistant UV coating to protect your lenses and eyes. We offer premium coatings, such as an anti-reflective coating, which reduces glare and makes night driving safer and computer use more comfortable. It also eliminates the annoying camera flash on glasses in photographs.

prescription eyewear

We believe that polarized lenses are the best kept secret in the optical business. Polarized lenses are used in sunglasses to reduce glare from reflective surfaces yet are not too dark for indoor wear. We supply polarized lenses in premium, non-prescription sunglasses such as Maui Jim and Costa Del Mar. If you choose, many of these sunglasses can be made with prescription lenses. Just ask one of our qualified opticians when picking out your eyewear.
